A two-day online meeting of NATO foreign ministers began today. The main topics to be discussed at the meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday include Russia's military might, China's rise and the latest situation in Afghanistan.

In this regard, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in an online press conference before the start of the meeting highlighted these issues and said that we are currently facing a difficult and dilemma on the situation in Afghanistan.

There is currently a historic breakthrough for peace. This process is critical at the moment, but it must be stopped. The United States has decided to reduce its military presence there. There are currently 11,000 NATO troops left. Half of them are from European countries and the rest from allied countries.

In this situation, if NATO withdraws, Afghanistan will again become a safe haven for terrorists. And if they stop there, there is a danger of starting a long and difficult mission. This includes the new wave of terrorism. It is hoped that the NATO foreign ministers will decide this at their next meeting in February. This will be the main topic of this meeting.

Russia, on the other hand, is expanding its missile system by modernizing its nuclear weapons. He is deploying his forces in various places in our neighborhood, including Syria and Libya.

Its presence has also increased in recent crises in Belarus and Nagorno-Karabakh. At the meeting, the foreign ministers will consider how to respond to Russia's growing military might.

According to the NATO Secretary General, the third important topic that will be part of the agenda for this meeting is the change in the balance of power due to the rise of China in the world.

He made it clear that China is not against us. Its rise is an important opportunity for our economy and trade. But at the same time, it is a challenge to our security.

He said China was investing heavily in its new and advanced weapons. It is getting closer to us with investments in our own infrastructure, from architecture to Africa.

At the same time, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that China is not a part of our values. He neither respects human rights nor urges other countries to do so. That is why NATO allies and like-minded people need to think about this together.
