Farmers protest, Modi government finds fault with Justin Trudeau's statement

 Narendra Modi's government has been slammed by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's statement in support of Indian farmers.


In a statement, the Canadian Prime Minister expressed concern over the protests of Indian farmers and said that Canada would always stand by them in defending the peaceful protests of Indian farmers.

He also confirmed that Canada was in touch with the Indian government on the issue of farmers.


The Indian government did not like the statement of the Canadian Prime Minister on the support of the farmers and immediately reacted by declaring it as ignorant and unnecessary.


The Indian Foreign Ministry says it is better not to distort diplomatic talks for political gain.


Farmers in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh have been protesting against the new agricultural laws in India for the past several days.

When the demands were not met, the farmers' leaders threatened to block the main highways of the capital Delhi and close the traffic completely.


The farmers' leaders warned that if all their demands were not met, they would block Delhi's main highways and cut off traffic.
